Sometimes people ask her, “Are the Akashic Records just about past lives?”
It’s important to know that while there is past life information in your Akashic Records, there is so much more. You are an infinite and unique soul with an infinite an unique soul purpose, and hence, soul plan.
So What Are the Akashic Records & What Do They say About My Soul Plan?
The Akashic Records are the recording about all that your soul has ever been and done throughout time.

When you choose to come to Earth and have a human experience, you first write a Soul Plan that incorporates your soul purpose for this lifetime.
This includes some of your talents and gifts you wish to share with others; this is part of your Soul Purpose.
Your soul plan also includes the people who you wish to support or learn from, which are called Soul Contracts.
We write around 20 – 50 Soul Contracts to support others in relationships, to partner in life and in business, to have children, or sometimes not. We also contract with other souls to finish Karma or Vows from other lifetimes.
This is where knowing your Past Lives becomes essential as they are affecting what you came to do in this life.
What are the Akashic Records for?
They are also available to you for healing.
When you understand your Soul Plan and purpose, you start to see the big picture of your life, and it explains many of the WHY questions you may have.
For example, you may wonder:
- Why do I have challenges with money?
- Why do I keep falling into the same negative pattern in relationships?
- Why did I pick my birth family since they are nothing like me?
- Why do I have health issues I can’t heal?
Your Akashic Records answer many of your questions about your soul plan and purpose, along with other information and guidance to assist you in moving forward on your soul path.

Soul Purpose vs. Soul Plan: Insights from an Akashic Records Expert

When we tackle the concepts of soul purpose and soul plan, we are stepping into the realm of spiritual and metaphysical beliefs which are not empirically grounded but are nonetheless significant in many philosophical and religious systems. Remember that these concepts are interpreted differently across various traditions, with no universally accepted definition. Let’s delve into these terms from a perspective akin to that of a supposed master of the akashic records.
According to esoteric philosophy, the akashic records are a compendium of all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future. They are believed to be encoded in a non-physical plane known as the etheric plane.
Soul Purpose:
From this vantage point, a soul purpose can be understood as the fundamental essence or intrinsic drive of a soul—an overarching theme or intention that guides an individual’s journey across various lifetimes. It is the core, the unique spiritual fingerprint that shapes an individual’s aspirations, challenges, experiences, and lessons to be learned.
This purpose is not about specific accomplishments but rather about the quality and vibrational nature of the experiences and evolution a soul seeks.

Soul Plan:
In contrast, a soul plan could be envisioned as the particular itinerary a soul lays out for a specific lifetime—a blueprint of sorts. This plan includes the particular experiences, key relationships, challenges, and opportunities a soul chooses before incarnation to align with its purpose and foster growth.
It serves as a roadmap, suggesting a sequence of events and interactions intended to provide the soul with the conditions for learning and fulfilling its purpose. However, according to most interpretations of the Akashic records, while the plan is a pattern of potentiality, free will allows for deviation and improvisation in this plan as the individual lives out their life.

Both soul purpose and soul plan, within this framework, are seen as complementary: the purpose serves as the ‘why’, the underlying reason for a soul’s experiences, while the plan is the ‘how’, the pre-incarnative strategizing to fulfill that purpose in the material realm.
These interpretations are rooted in a belief system rather than empirical evidence and are meant to provide personal insight or spiritual comfort rather than verifiable truths. For some, engaging with these concepts fosters a deeper understanding of oneself and their place in the cosmos.
Regardless of one’s belief in the Akashic records or the aforementioned concepts, discussing soul purpose and plan can often serve as a valuable metaphorical tool in personal growth and introspection, inviting individuals to reflect upon their life’s direction and choices.

More About the Akashic RecordsAs a student of levels of consciousness and the teachings of Dr. David R. Hawkins it was very interesting to come across the existence of what is known as the Akashic Records.
I have been through a significant amount of spiritual turmoil and human suffering in this life. These experiences have left me wondering how could I have come into these experiences…what was my soul purpose for these and was it part of my soul plan?
How did I create them?
Did I have some sort of karmic propensity that would create such a thing?
When I was introduced to Lisa Barnett as a faculty member for The Shift Network, I knew my prayers had been answered in some way.
Then I interviewed Lisa Barnett and received some really fascinating information about the existanence of what’s known as the Akashic Records.
But what I have learned from the research into consciousness is that it calibrates as TRUE that everything throughout eternity is recorded.
Every hair on your head and every cell in your body has been recorded in consciousness…
Not to mention every thought that you think and every belief and feeling that you have.
It too has been recorded in consciousness.
So what I have contemplated ever since is “What are the Akashic Records?” and are they what Dr. Hawkins is speaking of when he discusses his research into consciousness?
I’ve asked a friend who does consciousness calibrations to check this out for me.
